Kayla is an ISA Certified Arborist with TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) and Oak Wilt Certification through the state of Michigan. She holds a Master’s Degree in Tree Ecology, giving her an advanced understanding of how trees interact with their surrounding environment — including soil health, water cycles, climate conditions, and the complex relationships between trees, plants, and wildlife.

Her expertise spans large removals, proper pruning practices, tree injections, plant health care, and advanced tree cabling. Kayla combines scientific knowledge with hands-on arboriculture experience, making her a leader in applying ecological principles to practical tree care solutions.

Jake Kunitser

Jacob Kunitser is a Certified Arborist with a B.S. in Natural Resources Management from Grand Valley State University. He is also a MDARD Commercial Applicator in categories 3B & 6, bringing a strong combination of academic knowledge, professional credentials, and hands-on field experience to the Timber Ridge Tree Care team.

Jacob recently joined Timber Ridge and will be managing our services in the Kalamazoo area, where he’s excited to provide expert tree care and build trusted relationships within the community.

Prior to joining our team, Jacob worked as a consulting forester for Consumers Energy and has over three years of arboricultural experience. His specialties include pruning to ISA Best Management Practices, tree biology, soil science, and plant health care.
